The MAKING OF THE MARK PATTERSON BRAND

Mark Patterson founded the brand in 1985 with his wife, Josette, in New York City.

Originally from Southern California, Mark took a gemology class at the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica, CA, where he met Josette. Following his graduation, he worked at the GIA’s New York City campus grading diamonds and teaching gemology classes. He also learned to make jewelry, mentoring under Kurt Gaum and learning traditional Swiss goldsmithing techniques.

In 2010, Mark and Josette returned to their roots and opened their flagship store and studio in Newport Beach, California. Their team of highly skilled artisans handcraft jewelry, from original designs to custom engagement rings and repurposing heirloom treasures.

Their jewelry collections are timeless and distinctive, showcasing why the brand has become known across the country – and cherished among Henne customers.
