There is a lot to consider with diamond laboratories and certifications. There are many ‘certified’ diamonds out there, but numerous standards of quality among the laboratories.

At Henne we only sell natural diamonds certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or American Gem Society (AGS), both of whom are non-profit organizations that set the industry standard for excellence. The GIA’s grading system is recognized, used, and trusted worldwide.

If you consider buying a loose diamond from another laboratory, you may run the risk of buying a lower quality diamond, especially if you buy online and don’t have the chance to look at the diamond in person. A laboratory report won’t tell you if the diamond is pretty. Many online diamond sellers offer the diamonds that the rest of the jewelry industry has rejected.

The best way to choose a diamond is to inspect and compare them in person. Which one has the most sparkle? Brilliance? Personality? It will ensure you get exactly what you want and eliminate the risk of getting a hazy or lesser quality diamond.
