Congrats to Neal and Anna, who recently got engaged while on a trip to Ireland!
How they met
Neal is from New Jersey, and Anna is from Michigan. Surgical residency is what brought them together here in Pittsburgh. They met, and fell in love. Last year they traveled to California and were hiking through a redwood grove as they talked about their relationship. By that point they both knew this wasn't a casual relationship; this was it.
About the Proposal
Neal and Anna traveled to Ireland together and made their way to the west coast to the cliffs of Kilkee. They were hiking and found a spot where the cliffs overlooked a rocky cove. They were watching the ocean crash into the cove, slowly swirl around, and then drain out. Magical. The perfect moment to propose.
He took the ring out of his pack, told her he loved her and wanted to spend his life with her, and asked her if she would marry him. She said yes!
They spent the remainder of the trip hiking, traveling to Irish towns, and enjoying great food.
