How they met
Joseph and Isla both attended college at Georgetown University and became very good friends quickly. They spent most of time together while in college and remained very good friends even after college and into medical school and residency. They knew there was something deeper between them while watching fireworks by the lake together one night in July 2017. They went on our first date the following weekend!
About the Proposal
They were on vacation in the southwest US road tripping around Arizona, Utah and Nevada, hitting all the highlights -- Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Bryce National Park, Antelope Canyon, and Las Vegas! One morning they visited Horseshoe Bend in Arizona and whilst Isla was peering over the edge of the canyon Joe explained that he was getting someone to take their picture. When he came back he told Isla "don't be nervous". As she turned around, somewhat confused by that comment, she saw Joe on one knee and he proposed! The answer was an immediate yes!
Looking toward the Future
They are currently in a long distance relationship due to work, but in the next year just after getting married, they plan on moving to the same city where they hope to start a family!
