Congrats to Alex and April on their engagement! Many people have heard of the dating app Bumble, which has a BFF mode to find friends. In the Fall of 2018, Alex used Bumble BFF to meet his friend Robert. In the Summer of 2019, April used Bumble BFF to meet his wife Whitney. Then one night they introduced Alex and April. They hit it off, and in November 2019 they started dating!
Alex proposed at Mount Ida Vineyards in Charlottesville, Virginia. It is a special place to them. It has gorgeous views and they love going there each time they visit Charlottesville. Alex and April take photos every time they go, so this time he popped the question during photos. April did not expect it at all! She thought it was going to happen in Pittsburgh.
So what's next for Alex and April?
While they've have loved their time in Pittsburgh, Alex's career will take them from his fellowship to elsewhere for a permanent position at a university next year. But they are aiming for a Fall 2023 wedding before moving!
