Congrats to Anthony and Tiffany on their engagement! Check out her amazing custom-designed ring!
How they met
Anthony and Tiffany met through Match.com around Thanksgiving in 2017. They were both traveling over the holiday so they got to know each other through texting and email before their first date. After meeting, Anthony and Tiffany quickly got serious - they just fit.
About the Proposal
One of the first gifts Tiffany got Anthony was a coffee mug created using "kintsugi". It's a traditional Japanese art using liquid gold to repair pieces of broken pottery and enhance the breaks. It transforms imperfections and views them as something to celebrate. It doesn’t hide flaws, but displays them with pride. The finished product is ultimately more valuable because of the work and care in fixing the broken places. It's a good metaphor for celebrating the beauty of people...flaws and all.
Tiffany met Juliet, one of our Sales Associates, during a July 4 event, and they talked about dream engagement rings. Tiffany was gushing over salt and pepper diamonds and talked about how difficult it was to find one or a ring that had a low setting. Ironically enough, Anthony went to Juliet the next month to look at rings, and Juliet already knew exactly what she wanted. Juliet worked with Anthony to design the ring and chose the exact diamond.
Anthony proposed on the beach in Florida on December 2 - the anniversary of their second date. Tiffany tells him that technically it's their real anniversary too since it was the first night of Hanukkah. He flew his family and Tiffany's mother there for vacation so everyone was together for the occasion. He told everyone they were going to take family photos by the beach and then surprised her by getting down on one knee. Tiffany shared that she blacked out as soon as he kneeled down so she's forever grateful that it's on film (and that her makeup was done)!
Anthony said, "Today is the anniversary of our second date. To say you’ve changed my life for the better this past year would be an understatement. You’ve taught me how to be a better friend, a better partner, and a better person. I’ve spent my entire life looking for you. I don’t want to go another day without showing you how much you mean to me. I love you so much, will you marry me?” Tiffany screamed, "Of course I will!" And her mom had to remind her to put the ring on her finger!"
Looking toward the Future
Anthony and Tiffany plan on getting married next winter and Tiffany's ring is the inspiration for their color scheme and decor.
