How They Met:
Congrats to Allison and Karalyn! They met on a dating app in the middle of the Pandemic back in 2020. The whole world was still shut down, so they had their first date on Karalyn's couch with some takeout and talked until 4am. The rest is history.
THE Big Moment:
Allison had planned on asking Karalyn first without her having any idea, so Allison got her to come to Henne with the intent that they were only starting the process of looking. In reality, she knew that she would be going back the next week to design Karalyn's ring.
Allison proposed on a Sunday morning in August because she knew they'd then have an entire day to celebrate with friends and family after. She had no idea it was coming and was beyond surprised to wake up to a fresh cup of coffee and a diamond ring.
Karalyn then proposed back a few months later on the 2nd anniversary of their first date. Karalyn told Allison that she had the worst day imaginable at work and wanted to meet at their favorite wine bar, Spill, for a drink. Allison wasn't feeling it so she tried to talk Allison into staying in, but she persisted. Allison got there first, honestly way underdressed for what was about to occur; next thing she knew, Karalyn was down on a knee shortly after gifting her with a new Christmas ornament that held her ring.
FUTURE PLANS
Karalyn is currently finishing up a fellowship in Richmond, VA with an attending position already waiting for her back in Pittsburgh. Allison has been bouncing between the two cities and keeping herself busy with wedding planning when she's not working.
The wedding is in August of 2024 shortly after Karalyn returns to the city for good, and they plan on taking a nice extended honeymoon afterward.
Why Henne?
Allison and Karalyn wanted to stick with a local jeweler, both being born and raised in Pittsburgh. Allison's cousin and his wife had a wonderful experience with Henne, and after reading the mission statement, they both knew that it was the place for them. They were able to easily design each other's dream ring with Chayla's assistance.
